The 8th Pan American Wushu Championships is set to get underway from October 7th to 10th 2010 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Pan American Wushu Championship is the official, continental Wushu event in the Americas and an important event for this growing organization. This year's event will be the 8th Pan American Wushu Championship since PAWF held its first championships in 1996 in Buenos Aires. In addition to Argentina, this biennial Championship has also been held in Canada, Brazil, the US, and Venezuela. The Pan-American Wushu Federation (PAWF) will sponsor and the Argentina Wushu Federation (FAWK) will organize this event. PAWF currently consists of twenty member-nations from throughout the Americas.
Team Bermuda consist of Sentwali Woolridge – 70kg, Shannon Ford – 80kg, Reyel Bowen – 85kg, and Jermal Woolridge - +90kg will all compete in san shou along with female fighter, Talia Iris fighting at 56kg and one junior male fighter, Samir Furqan also fighting at 56kg. Bermuda will also be represented in the taolu event where Garron Wilkinson will take part.
Team Bermuda is set to Arrive & Register between 9:00am & 11:00am, they will also have a weight-in later in the day.
