Gavin Manders continues his quest to strengthen the relationship between Tennis and Pickleball across the island.
Earlier this year, the Pickleball Association Bermuda (PAB) announced the appointment of Manders as the National Director of Pickleball.
Manders who heads Manders Tennis Management (MTM) recently attended the Chase APP Miami Pickleball Open, at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Manders who teamed up with Benjamin Jones finished with the Silver Medal competing in the Men’s Doubles 19+ Division.
Manders believes the two sports can exist and even grow together at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium, Manders sat down with www.islandstats.com to discuss recent events and the future.

Twelve Successfully Complete Boxing Inspectors Program

Timothy Shipman, Florida Commissioner of Boxing and Combat Sports and Instructor with the American Boxing Commission (“ABC”) recently visited the Bermuda Boxing Commission (“BBC”) to administer the test for Boxing Inspectors to their Operations Team.
The Bermuda Boxing Commission has been informed that their Operations Team successfully completed the Inspectors Certification program. This now adds to the list of certified judges and referees. The new Boxing Inspectors are; Gladwin Philips, Anthony Mouchette, Nolette Webb, Monigue Heyliger, Talia Iris, Claudelle Richardson, Zenji Ingham, Trey Simons, Ed Harris, Shaun Richards, Dirk Evelyn, and Dwayne Cox.
The Executive Members of the BBC would like to extend congratulations to the Operations Team for their hard work in achieving this important certification.

Roberts Elected to Archery Americas Development Committee

World Archery Americas General Assembly was held in Colombia.
Trina Roberts was voted in for 4 years on the Development Committee. The committee supports the Development of Archery in the Americas with recommendations for specific rules, procedures, training, and coaching for athletes, coaches, and judges.
