Bermuda Natwest Island Games 2017 Day 3

Day 3 for Bermuda as the NatWest Island Games continued in Gotland, with a Silver Medal won in the sport of Archery..

Archery

During the Men's 720 Recurve, Bernard Wade III finished 7th with a score of 551, while Robert O'Connor finished 12th with a score of 542. In the Women's 720 Recurve Tiffany Slaton finished 9th with a score of 451.

In the Mixed Recurve Head to Head Team Knockout, Bermuda ranked 7th won the Silver Medal going down 6-0 to Guernsey who were ranked number 1.

Athletics

Gayle Lindsay finished the Women’s 1,500m race in 7th crossing the line in a time of 4.47.05.

Badminton

In Men's Singles action Kwun Wa Lam went down 2-0 to Fingal Wattersson from the Isle of Man 21-11, 21-6, Mark Haugen fell 2-1 to Matthew Nicholson also from the Isle of Man 21-13, 15-21, 21-14. Danial Hughes fell 2-0 to Robert Karlsson from Gotland 21-11, 21-16 and Denzel Simons went down 2-1 to Johannes Gardell from Gotland 19-21, 21-10, 21-16.

Cycling

The Men's Individual Mountain Bike Cross Country saw Adam Kirk finish 25th, one lap down and Deshi Smith finished 29th 2 laps down.

Golf

During the First Round of the Men’s Individual competition, Will Haddrell is in 9th place after a round of 74, Jarryd Dillas shot 80 and is in 23rd , while both James Campbell and Mark Phillips are T45th after rounds of 85.

Elizabeth Parsons is in 9th place in the Ladies Individual competition after a round of 84, Tariqah Walikraam is one spot back in 10th after her round of 85. Ending the first round in 13th was Katrin Burnie after her round of 88 and Linda Down is in 27th after her round of 98.

Tennis

Only Jovan Jordan-Whitter was in action during the Men's Singles Round of 64, but he went down 2-1 to David Riera Pons from Menorca 4-6, 6-1, 1-0. During the Round of 32, David Thomas leading by a set advanced when his opponent Rauno Gull from Saaremaa retired injured, Gavin Manders defeated Sion Myers from Ynys Môn in straight sets 6-1, 6-0, but Samuel Butler went down 2-1 to Josep Coll Llopis from Menorca 2-6, 6-2, 1-0.

Volleyball

Bermuda’s Men’s Volleyball team suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hand of Gotland 25-16, 18-25, 25-20. 14-19, 15-10. The Bermuda Women’s team went down 3-2 to Menorca 25-19, 18-25, 25-10, 21-25, 18-16.
