Bermuda Athletes Win Martial Arts Medals

Bermuda competitors earned multiple Medals at John Chung’s World Cup of Martial Arts near Washington DC recently.

Chung was celebrating 50 years of Martial Arts career and team leader Andrea McKey presented him with a plaque from Bermuda Karate Organization acknowledging this milestone and his 35 years of support for Martial Arts in Bermuda.

Dominique Brown finished 3rd in Intermediate Weapons, 3rd Traditional Forms and 3rd in Sparring.

Callahj Simons was 3rd in Traditional Form and was a Finalist in Sparring.

Kentaro Bean won the Weapons Class, but dropped the Weapon in Grand Championship, he finished 1st in Forms, but was Disqualified in Sparring.

Amiel Trott was 3rd in Traditional Forms, while Rakeysha Robinson finished 2nd in Traditional Forms and 2nd in Weapons.

Kent Bean won the Weapons Division and he won the Forms Division.

Charles Ndiaye won both Forms and Sparring Division titles, while Charles Butterfield won his Forms Division.

McKey finished 1st in the Open Extreme Weapons Division and she finished 2nd Traditional Weapons, she then finished off winning the Forms Division.

McKey, Butterfield and Kent Bean were all in the Grand Champion Round for Form.
