Team Bermuda Masks for Sale at Coral Coast

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) in partnership with Coral Coast Clothing is selling “Team Bermuda” face masks to help the public show their support and raise money for Bermuda’s athletes leading up to Tokyo 2020. The masks, which are reusable and adjustable, retail for $20 each and are available exclusively at the Coral Coast Clothing shop at 15 Front Street in Hamilton.

The masks let supporters show their pride in Bermuda and its athletes. They are available in the national team colors of pink and blue and feature the new Team Bermuda logo, designed by Bermudian artist Lee Ingram. All proceeds from the sale of masks will go to the BOA, which is a registered charity, supporting the development of Bermuda’s young athletes and helping maximize their participation in international sporting competitions.

The Games of the XXXII Olympiad, which were to have been held this past summer, but were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are now scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan from July 23rd to August 8th.

Brenda Dale, BOA Vice President and Bermuda’s Chef de Mission for Tokyo 2020 said, “Our athletes are now in year five of preparation for these Games. (They) need all the support of our community in terms of preparation for Tokyo. We thank everybody who joins in celebrating our athletes (by buying a Team Bermuda or BOA mask). All of the proceeds are for our athletes.”

Lee Ingram said, “(As a designer) it’s always nice to know that people want to wear something you designed. It’s a good feeling, and it’s good to know that it will help Bermuda’s athletes. I wish them all the best.”

Sam Outerbridge, Co-Owner of Coral Coast Clothing said, “With Olympians being amateur athletes, they need as much support as they can get. The BOA was at the top of the list when we were thinking of people to partner with (to do that). We want Bermuda to know that 100% of the $20 selling price for each mask goes to the athletes.”
