Bermuda Olympian Tyler Butterfield crushed the second half of the run to take the lead and the win at the 2019 Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel. Butterfield put together an amazing performance on his way to the win. Butterfield came out of the water in 7th place 22 seconds behind the leader Brent McMahon, Butterfield clocked 25:06, with McMahon was clocked at 24:44. When the 56-Mile Bike ride was finish, Butterfield was in 5th. Butterfield would be able to overtake Von Berg and run to victory clocking 3:50:22, Von Berg was second in 3:52:21 and finishing third was Michael Weiss who was clocked at 3:53:38.
