The Caribbean Basketball Confederation has officially refused to allow 4 Bermuda players to play in the current FIBA AmeriCup 2021 Caribbean Pre- Qualifiers in Paramaribo, Suriname
Bermuda have been forced to play three games with only six players, after everyone was allowed to play the first game.
President of the Bermuda Basketball Association Ricky Watts addressed the issue when asked by www.islandstats.com.
Watts said, “This could have all been avoided had officials from the Caribbean Basketball Federation (CBC) and FIBA answered emails months ago.”
“Under a new ruling Bermuda players must get clearance through Great Britain as well and the paperwork was never addressed until we were given a number to call and speak to someone, the paper work was received by FIBA and the CBC, but they had already made the decision not to allow the four players to play the rest of the tournament.”
