School Names Pool After World Champion Former Student
Warwick Academy hosted a ceremony to officially rename their swimming pool after Multiple World Triathlon Champion, Xterra World Champion and Bermuda Female Athlete of the Year Flora Duffy.
Duffy, who has had an extraordinary year, which will be capped off when she is married in three weeks time, attended Warwick Academy and received the honor of the school naming the pool after her.
Warwick Academy Principle David Horan said, “Duffy is an exceptional role model, and that the school felt it was an honor to recognize her accomplishments by naming the pool after Duffy.”
Horan went on to say, “Duffy’s accomplishments can also show everyone who visits their school that - Great Sports People - start somewhere, even in such a small place as Bermuda.”
