There will be no Cup Match this year for Emmerson Carrington as he has been selected to officiate in the 2017 Caribbean Premier Cricket League Twenty20 this year.
Carrington would/should have been a name on the top of the list to officiate this year’s Classic at the East End, however he could not let an opportunity go past such as this.
Carrington said, “Following my first game during the recently concluded ICC Americas Under 19 World Cup Qualifiers in Canada, the ICC Americas Development Officer approached me about the opportunity to umpire in the CPL, which I quickly said yes too.”
Carrington said he was looking forward to being in the middle for Bermuda biggest Sporting spectacle this year, but he just thought he needed to take this opportunity because it was now.
Carrington will sever as the fourth Umpire during the St. Kitts & Nevis – Guyana match that will be played on August 6th at the Fort Lauderdale Complex at 11am.
He will then be a standing Umpire during the Jamaica – Barbados game at 3pm at the same venue and date.
