Bermuda’s Boccia members Omar Hayward, Steve Wilson and Paralympian Yushae Desilva-Andrade began competing in the BISFed 2017 Regional Open Championships in Montreal.
Hayward playing in the Individual BC1 Division finished the day with 2 wins and a defeat, Hayward started out defeating Brigid Mason from the United States 13 - 0, he then defeated Canada’s Lois Martin 5 - 1, Hayward would fall 4 - 2 to world number 18 Eduardo Ventura from Mexico in his final match of the day.
Paralympian Desilva-Andrade went down in her only match of the day 7 - 1 to Michael Mercer from Canada.
Wilson picked up a 5 - 0 win in his first match against Karla Manuel Enriquez from Mexico, but he would go down 5 - 3 in his second match to Adam Burnett from United States.
