Members of the Bermuda Gymnastics Association are competing in the 2017 Gasparilla Classic in Tampa, Florida.
On Day One competing in the Women’s Xcel Bronze Group 5, Dana Hawitt finished 6th with an overall score of 35.450, Madison Ebbin was 7th with a score of 35.150, Kassandra Hobson was 9th with a score of 34.575, Hobson finished T1st while competing on her Floor Routine, while finishing 11th in the group was Carina Bortoli with a score of 33.450.
Niamh Rowe finished 12th with a score of 35.375 competing in the Women’s Xcel Bronze Group 6, the Bermuda Gymnastics finished 3rd in the Women’s Xcel Bronze All Ages Division with a combined score of 107.250.
Competing in the Women’s Xcel Silver Group 1 saw Ella Newton finish 4th with a score of 36.625, Newton won the Vault event with a score of 9.150, Ella Younie finished 5th with a score of 36.350, Younie won the Pommel Horse scoring 9.300 and Tse Burgess finished 5th scoring 36.325.
Sanaa Simmons won the Women’s Xcel Silver Group 2 with a score of 37.225, she picked up the win in the Vault with a score of 9.525. Winning the Floor Routine helped Kennedy Kowalski finish 3rd with a score of 36.775, Kowalski recorded a score of 9.450 on her winning routine.
The Bermuda Gymnastics team in this Group finished the Women’s Xcel Silver All Ages in second place with a combined score of 111.775.
The Women’s Xcel Gold Group 1 was won by Isabella Charleson with a score of 37.225, she would win the Parallel Bars scoring 9.700. Bethany Cooze finished second in the Women’s Xcel Gold Group 2 with a score of 36.475 this after she recorded a score of 9.325 on her way to winning the Floor Routine.
