Yesterday in a release titled a vision for the future of the America’s Cup was announced that had been agreed upon by current competitors that they said “would see long-sought stability and continuity in the competition for the oldest trophy in international sport.”
Upon reading the release www.islandstats.com sent a email to the Premier of Bermuda which reads:
With most of the local media running with the story headlined “New Framework Agreement For America’s Cup”, I have a sports question as it relates to something in the release.
The statement in part reads:
•The America’s Cup World Series [ACWS] will start, at the election of the defender, as soon as Q4 2017. Venues, sponsors and media partners will be approached over the next six months to secure up to 12 international events over the next two years.
So my question is “Is Bermuda looking to rebid to Host the 2019 America’s Cup?”
At present www.islandstats.com still awaits a response from the Premier of Bermuda.
