Sims Continued to Rise at Bolle Classic

IslandStats.com
The feeling amongst players on the eGolf Tour is that Canadian Cam Burke is due to win sooner rather than later on the country’s No. 3 developmental tour.

A vast array of low rounds posted throughout the year has led many to believe that the two-time Canadian Amateur champion has the game to run and hide from players in any tournament, at any time.

That time may in fact be at this week’s Bolle Classic, where the New Hamburg, Ontario native has posted rounds of 70-64-65—199 to grab a two-shot lead heading into Saturday’s final round of the 72-hole event.

The Bolle Classic is the 12th event of the 2011 eGolf Tour season and is being contested this week at both Sapona Country Club in Lexington, NC and Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC.

Michael Sims shot a Third Round 3-under par 68 to end the day up from his T31st spot to T20th.

Sims’ round saw him start out on the Front Nine, where he recorded a Birdie on the par five first, following a Par on the second, Sims then recorded a Bogey on the par three third then had a Par on the fourth before back to back Birdies on the fifth and sixth saw him move to 2-under par. Sims then ran off three consecutive Pars to make the turn at 2-under par.

On the Back Nine Sims started out with back to back Pars, Sims then recorded a Bogey on the par four twelfth, following two Pars, Sims then closed out with a Birdie, back to back Pars and then a Birdie to end at 3-under par.
