BOA Bermuda Olympic Quiz Contest

IslandStats.com
June 23rd has been set aside by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as an annual Olympic Day for all of its member countries to celebrate Olympism in meaningful ways. Initially, for some years, the day was identified to all through the staging of the Olympic Day Run – which was a low key casual non-competitive walk/stroll/jog/run as a means of bringing communities together in a casual event that celebrated Olympism without the stringently competitive and patriotic fervor of the Olympic Games, but rather a fun event in which the whole community could participate and enjoy.

The Bermuda Olympic Association has decided the hos an Olympic Quiz which will take place at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess from June 19th – 23rd.

The quiz contest will be concerned with facts, topics and events about Olympism, The Olympics, Olympic History, Olympic Trivia and Bermuda in the Olympic Games.

All National Sport Governing Bodies are eligible to enter a team in this competition as well as teams from the General Public. For the purposes of this competition there shall be two (2) semi-finals from which the first 2 teams from each semi-final will qualify for the finals. A total of four teams shall qualify for the finals. All registered teams will compete in semi-final competitions. Teams will be submitted in writing to the Bermuda Olympic Association, which team may not be altered for the finals unless approved by the Quiz Contest Committee.

Each team will be comprised of five (5) members. Selected Team names should be submitted with its members list. Representative teams must be submitted in writing to the Bermuda Olympic Association office at least 4 weeks in advance of the first semi-final competition.

Each participant will be recognized for his/her participation in this competition. Major prizes will be awarded to the first 4 places in the Final with recognition awards presented to all team members.
