After three days of racing at the Trofeo S.A.R. Princess Sofia MAPFRE the qualification stage is over for classes sailing in groups and tomorrow will see the best of the best going for glory in the Gold Fleet.
Jonas Warrer and Soren Hansen from Denmark have taken the lead in the 49er fleet from David Evans and Edward Powys from Great Britain, now in third place, one point behind John Pink and Rick Peacock also from Great Britain.
Bermuda’s Olympic hopefuls Jesse and Zander Kirkland are taking part in the 49er Skiff Fleet and the pair will sail in the Gold fleet, after they moved up 2 places from 13th to 11th after a total of 9 races.
The Kirklands ended Day Three in the fleet of 76 boats with 67 points.
The Kirklands finished the first race of the day in 9th place sailing in the Gold Fleet, they then won the second race, before closing out the third race with a 17th place finish.
