Kirklands 18th in World Cup Regatta

Sunshine and light breeze provided for gentle but technical sailing for all classes engaged in the 43rd Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofa MAPFRE, the third of seven ISAF Sailing World Cup Regattas.

Bermuda’s Olympic hopefuls Jesse and Zander Kirkland are taking part in the 49er Skiff Fleet.

Two Danish teams are leading the 49ers, with Peter Kruger Andersen and Nicola Thorsell one point ahead of team mates Jonas Warrer and Soren Hansen.

The Kirklands ended Day One in 18th place in the fleet of 76 boats with 32 points.

The Kirklands finished the first race of the day in 13th sailing in the Blue Fleet, they then finished 6th in the second race before closing out the third race with a 13th place finish.
