Robin Horsfield continued his race season, competing in the second provincial level race of the season at Midland, Ontario.
Once again competing in the top race of the day (requiring special qualification for entry) Horsfield continued to make a name for himself in Ontario cycling with a second-place finish, missing the top position by only 34 seconds.
Due to COVID-19 official provincial races remain Time Trial starts in Mountain Bike racing.
Horsfield also competed in the unofficial mass start event where he led out the pack, breaking away with top-ranked Ontario rider Luke Hlavenka off the start and gaining 2 minutes on the rest of the field prior to suffering a classic 'bonk' due to nutrition mismanagement resulting in a fifth-place finish.
Horsfield was undeterred and returned for race two to show that he is certainly among the top 10, if not among the top 5 riders in this province of almost 14 million people.
Horsfield has two more Ontario Cup races as well as one Canada Cup race left on his season schedule.
