Caitlin Conyers started a major day in Bermuda cycling history when she sped to victory in the Women’s Time Trial race on the iconic Malecon in Havana this morning. Setting a time which was over a minute faster than the second place finisher from Cuba, Conyers delivered gold for Bermuda.
Conyers was clocked at 33:48.202
In the Men’s Time Trial Conor White and Kaden Hopkins took to the start ramp with Hopkins turning in a performance that netted him the overall fastest time, resulting in his receiving the gold medals for the Elite and U23 titles. As Hopkins was the Junior Caribbean champion in 2018 and now the 2019 Elite champion, he is believed to be the first ever junior to Elite title holder.
Hopkins was clocked in a time of 45:16.629, while White recorded a time of 48:10.787.
