Over 50 riders in Bermuda registered for the eight days of Strava Festive 500 riding and 35 completed the 500 kilometers or more during the period.
Launched in 2010, cyclists around the world are challenged to get up off the sofa, put down the cassava pies and swing a leg over their bikes.
The event Kicked off on Christmas Eve and ran until New Year’s Eve, and of course there were a few fanatics out there who road exceptionally long once or twice and then there were the two individuals who battled right up to the evening of the final day for Bermuda bragging rights.
In the end Dominique Mayho got the better of Manuel Lonfat by a mere 3 kilometers.
Mayho completed 1,483k to Lonfat's 1,480, giving them 16th and 17th positions in the world for this competition!
