Dominique Mayho retained his Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Presidents Cup 100 Kilometer Road Race, while Mathew Oliveira won the Junior race and Karen Smith won the Female title.
Mayho showed that the form and fitness he obtained while competing in Canada has paid off. Mahyo, David McComas, Anthony Bartley and Darren Glasford held a lead of some 37 seconds on the field after the haf way point which continued to grow as Mayho and McComas pulled away from the other two.
Going into Somerset McComas started to cramp up, and Mahyo decided to hang with him for a while before making his final break near five star island recording a time of 2:26:34.4, McComas hung on for second place with a time of 2:37:05.8, Glasford finished third with a time of 2:41:40.6.
Oliveira finished 5th overall ahead of two other Juniors Dylan Hill and Kaden Hopkins who finished 6th and 7th. Oliveira clocked a time of 2:41:42.82, Hill clocked 2:41:42.83 and Hopkins clocked 2:41:43.7.
Smith crossed the line 37th overall with a time of 3:03:05.7, Wenda Roberts was the second Female finisher and 43rd overall with a time of 3:09:22.6 and Ashley Estwanik was the third Female finisher and 44th overall with a time of 3:09:24.1.
