Residents and businesses in St Helier are receiving letters outlining the road closures needed to hold the Island games 2015 Town Criterium, which is being held on Thursday July 2nd.
The exciting, fast-paced cycling event around a closed 1.2 mile circuit through St Helier's town Centre will be the climax of the NatWest Island Games Cycling event.
The Jersey 2015 Director Steve Bailey said that diversions would be in place so that disruption was kept to a minimum, and that the purpose of the letters being distribute was to ensure that St Helier residents and businesses are kept well informed.
"Staging this event in the center of town during the week will mean some inconvenience, but I want to assure everyone that we are doing everything we can to minimize the inconvenience while staging an event that Jersey can be proud of," he said. "We are sorry for any inconvenience, and hope that everyone will be understanding. We have given people plenty of time to make arrangements if they expect to be affected."
The organization has involved St Helier honorary police and other officials.
