Two more Medals arrived back at the LF Wade International Airport from the Caribbean in the Sport of Cycling, last week the Juniors arrived back with two Medals around the neck of young Tyler Smith. Just like the arrival of the youngster the daily failed to show up and will look to have the cyclist come to them in order to get coverage!
The significance of this arrival was the fact that Zoenique Williams accomplished the goal set, which was to claim a spot for Bermuda in the 2015 Pan American Games which will be held in Canada.
Williams who won a Silver Medal during the Road Race said, “I knew what the ultimate goal was to qualify for the Pan American Games and I set my sights on just that.” “The course was very challenging as there was two hills that covered over a mile in distance in both,” continued Williams. “I am proud that I was able to accomplish the feat,” concluded Williams.
On Day One Nicole Mitchell won a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Individual Time Trial said they had their challenges, “I just had to do what it took to get the job done, the course was flat so I just wanted to attack, I think I could have done better, but overall I am pleased with my effort.”
