Dominique Mayho was again the man to beat in the top local racing category in the Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Criterium race this morning in Southside, St. David’s.
Mayho and Shannon Lawrence broke away from the rest of the peloton early in the 45 minute contest and stayed away until the end with Mayho taking the victory in a time of 39:40.042, with Lawrence finishing second clocking 39:40.769 and Anthony Bartley got the better of his teenage teammate Justin Ferreira to take third recording a time of 40:50.503.
In the Adult B Race the peloton stayed together to force a mass sprint for the win. With a time of 30:07.169 Randy Burgess came out on top followed by his teammates Ricky Smith in 30:07.243 and Kareem Johnson in 30:07.434.
Relative newcomer Sean Dickinson waited until the final lap of the C race to get ahead of the competition recording a time of 29:25.628, while in the Women category visitor Michelle Gauthier escaped early with Heather Roque and then dropped her companion to take a convincing win crossing the line in a time of 21:49.608.
In the junior categories Kaden Hopkins won the Jr. A race, Ben Edwards the Jr. B and Alex Southern the Jr. C title.
