The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s 40th Anniversary Celebration race saw Commonwealth Games attendees Dominique Mayho and Nicole Mitchell ride the 100 Kilometer Road Race to Victory. Photo's from the Race are posted in Cycling Gallery.
Mayho showed that the form he developed for Commonwealth Games was still there as he powered to take a solo victory in the Inaugural Presidents Cup.
Having been a part of a seven man break away Mayho dropped the rest of his group in Southampton and road to the finish in Paget with a 37 second lead over the chasers clocking a time of 2:40:00.832. Justin Ferreira, recently selected to represent Bermuda at the 2014 Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships, rode to a very impressive second place overall with a time of 2:40:37.404, just ahead of Mat Ackland who clocked 2:40:47.546, Mark Hatherley was 4th with a time of 2:40:49.802, while another junior, Daniel Oatley, produced an impressive result finishing fifth overall crossing the line in 2:40:50.102.
Mitchell was the top female finisher and 11th overall with a time of 2:45:17.202 followed by visitor Michelle Gauthier who finished 24th overall with a time of 2:52:05.909 and Zoenique Williams was third and 28th overall clocking 2:52:14.364.
