This Sunday is the Winners Edge Mountain Biking Championship at Ferry Reach. Racing begins at 9:00am with the Junior Male, Junior Female and Open Female events.
Next up is a non-championship race for younger riders and then, at 10:45am, the Open Male event.
In the Junior Male race we should see a very exciting battle between Robin Horsfield, Shomari Steed, and Matthew Oliveira with Christian Oatley trying to make his way on to the podium.
In the Junior Female race it will be Gabby Arnold's opportunity to take yet another national title but Tristan Narraway and Victoria Davis will not just give it away.
The currently vacant Open Female title will have an name following Sunday's race but whether it is one of the veteran riders like Julia Hawley and Karen Smith or Ali Watlington should prove interesting.
With Dominique Mayho racing on the road in the US this weekend the title race will have a less certain outcome. Mark Hatherley is having a resurgent year in off-road racing while Che'quan Richardson has voiced his intent to take the top step on the podium.
Mayho and Nicole Mitchell are both racing in the Tucson Bicycle Classic in Tucson, Arizona this weekend. Both Mitchell and Mayho are using the early season event to hone their racing skills and judge their fitness level. While Mitchell has been spending the last few weeks living in the US to race and train, Mayho left Bermuda on Thursday afternoon.
