The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Flying Colors Fat Tire Massive Mountain Bike Race Series ran its seventh race of nine at Hog Bay Park. Eighty Seven riders turned out to battle the tough climbs of in the park.
The weather was cloudy and humid for the most part but once again, the Junior riders had to navigate the course in a short patch of real “Tank Rain”.
With current Men’s A class points leader Dominic Mayho not in attendance, the rest of A class set their sights on a chance at first place. Unfortunately Neil De Ste Croix was a bit under the weather and had to pull out, Mark Hatherly who clocked 51:54.0, won the Male A Division, Chequan Richardson finished second with a time of 53:28.0 and Deshi Smith rounded out the top three finishers clocking 54:15.0.
Rookie Alexandria Watlington, freshly moved up to Female B from Novice had a tough time with the decent towards the beach. She managed to pull off a first place finish despite a few spills clocking 41:28.2, Gabriella Arnold finished second with a time of 43:58.5 and Ashley Kirkpatrick finished third with a time of 40:40.8.
