Under perfect conditions, the BBA Mountain Bike Flying Colours Fat Tire Massive Race series saw 101 out of 148 registered racers turn up to do battle along the long flat straights overlooking the boat yards, clock tower and the many restaurants located around the area.
As well as high speed straights, racers also had to contend with tight narrow doorways while racing though the buildings of Casemate’s Prison.
As predicted, the less trail-seasoned road racers were able to pick up a few positions and points on the relatively smooth flowing 1.8 mile course.
Neil De Ste Croix rode to victory in the Male A Division with 2nd place going to Grant Goudge and Brian Seinhoff finished 3rd. Gabriella Arnold won the Female B Division, with Ashley Kirkpatrick finishing in second.
