2013/14 Mountain Bike Season Announced

The Bermuda Bicycle Association announced along with Fat Tire Massive the 2013/2014 Flying Colours Mountain Bike Race Series.

Building on the success of last year, we hope to bring you another great race season, the Fat Tire Massive announced that they have a new sponsor - Riihiluoma's Flying Colours will be lead sponsor for this season's race series.

A new race calendar, race class and race format for this season has also been released, which will make for an exciting and challenging race series.

The Flying Colours Mountain Bike Race Series, sanctioned through the Bermuda Bicycle Association, will consist of 9 point races and an Endurance event, this does not include the National Championship, which is hosted by the Bermuda Bicycle Association.

The Flying Colours Mountain Bike Race Series will be based on the best 7 of 9 race results.

Nov. 17th. 2013 - Arboretum (race 1)
Dec. 1st. 2013 - Casemates (race 2)
Dec. 15th. 2013 - Admiralty House Park (race 3)
Dec. 29th. 2013 - Lagoon Park (race 4)
Jan. 12th. 2014 - Ferry Reach Park (race 5)
Jan. 26th. 2014 - Fort Scaur (race 6)
Feb. 9th. 2014 - Hog Bay (race 7)
Feb. 23rd. 2014 - Admiralty House Park (race 8)
Mar. 9th. 2014 - Lagoon Park (race 9)
Mar. 23rd. 2014 - Ferry Reach Park (Endurance Event)

The race season opener will be at the Arboretum, competitors will race the same course used in this year's highly successful NatWest Island Games.

The Fat Tire Massive has been welcomed back to Casemates and The Bermuda National Museum for another historic event at a classic venue.

Admiralty House Park and Lagoon Park will be visited twice this season so that both these challenging tracks can be raced in opposite directions.

Ferry Reach Park will also be raced twice, once as part of the point series and again at the end of the season for a four hour Endurance event which will see riders race into the light of the full moon. Fort Scaur and Hog Bay Park will again challenge riders with their steep hill climbs.
