Day 9 of the Tour of America’s Dairyland presented by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board saw the return to Fond du Lac for the Commonwealth Classic, a flat 4-corner circuit, just over a half mile in length, with wide, sweeping turns and a fast, 900-foot finishing stretch.
Pro Women lucked out, getting in their 60 minutes before the raindrops fell. Nicole Mitchell finished 23rd out of the 42 riders that started.
In the Men’s Pro Race, rain started to fall from the gun, making for less than ideal brake-squeaking conditions. One-Hundred and Five riders that included Bermuda’s Dominique Mayho, Johan Vivier and Darren Glasford went to the Start Line, just 46 finished, most opting instead early on to watch the race safely from the barricades. Neither three from Bermuda finished the race.
