The Bermuda Bicycle Association announced that Butterfield has confirmed their sponsorship for this year Butterfield Bermuda Grand Prix 2012 and the organizing team lead by Nigel Godfrey is well on the way to structuring a great weekend of racing.
The 2012 Butterfield Bermuda Grand Prix will comprise three races over three days, April 20th, 21st and 22nd.
Stage 1 - Friday April 20th, 2012 from 6:00pm Stage 2 - Saturday April 21st, 2012 from 7:30am Stage 3 - Sunday April 22nd from 9:00am
Participants should be aware that this year you are required to finish each stage in order to start the next. In effect this means that you cannot skip the Saturday circuit race and still race on Sunday.
With the road race season starting racers will need to be aware that the May 24th Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race will continue to have a qualification requirement. In order to qualify you must complete three mass-start races in one of the categories Adult A, Adult B, Adult C, Adult Women or Junior A. A mass start race is either a road race or a criterium.
There are five mass start races between now and May 24th including April 1st crit, April 21st BGP stage 2, April 23rd BGP stage 3, April 29th crit and May 13th road race.
