Meanwhile on the local front, Karl Wilson and Mike Zimmerman came from behind to win the Bermuda Open Doubles tournament.
Wilson and Zimmerman defeated Gary Bascome and Andre Burgess 3 – 2.
Wilson and Zimmerman defeated Bascome and Burgess in game one 56-26, Bascome and Burgess won game two 71-47, Bascome and Burgess would then take a 2 – 1 lead when they won game three 53-29. Wilson and Zimmerman would draw the game level when they won game four 70-60.
Wilson and Zimmerman then defeated defeated Bascome and Burgess 65-9 in the fifth and final game.
