West End Sports Two 2 Royal Artillery Association 4

The Peniston family decided to see if youth could win over experience, but unfortunately Dad had something to say about that. Andy Peniston plays for the Royal Artillery Association (RAA) and both of his sons play for West End Sports Two.

The visiting team, RAA walked off with a 4 – 2 victory over hosts West End Sports Two. Starting with the doubles, Joshua Peniston and Roger Henderson teamed up to grab the first point for host by a score of 55 – 40. Andy Peniston however, changed the score to 2 - 1 for RAA when he defeated John Periera 67 – 39 and 60 – 25. Aaron Bean tied the match with a 46 – 19 victory over Joe Latham. Herbert Burrows came out of retirement to defeat Jonathan Peniston 60 – 25 and put RAA ahead. Andy Peniston had high break so the final score was 4 – 2 for RAA.

Spanish Point Boat Club One 6 Spanish Point Boat Club Three 0

Spanish Point Boat Club One
took no prisoners when they handed Spanish Point Boat Club Three a 6 – 0 whitewash. Stewart Greenslade started it off with a 66 – 20 win over Jim Chartrand. Dennis Coyle then followed up with 58 – 29 and 44 – 35 wins over Tony Dawson. Ed Gumbs made it a clean sweep in the singles with a 69 – 2 win over Stuart Randell. Gumbs and Greenslade then teamed up to defeat Randell and Chatrrand by a score of 90 – 16. Gumbs picked up the high break to make it 6 – 0 for the number 1 team.

Queens Club 2 Warwick Workmen Club One 4

Queen’s Club
fell to visitors Warwick Workmen Club One by a score of 4 – 2. Jimmy McGill got Queen’s Club off to a good start with a 57 – 43 win over Keith Smith. However, Smith came back to win the second frame by a score of 53 – 30 and tie the match. John Nicol put Queen’s Club up again with a 50 – 43 win over Gary Bascome. Courtland Furbert evened it up again with a 67 – 25 win over Greg Swinborne. Furbert and Smith put Warwick Workmen Club One in the driver’s seat again with a 48 – 38 win over Nicol and Karl Wilson. Smith grabbed to high break to make it 4 – 2 for Warwick Workmen Club One.

Warwick Workmen Club Two 2 Sandys Boat Club 4

Sandys Boat Club
took home a 4 – 2 win when they visited Warwick Workmen’s Club Two. Andrew Pratt went down to Martin Siese by a score of 45 – 39. Wally Tucker got Warwick Workmen Club Two back to level with a 46 – 26 win over Stuart Matthews. Peter Bromby then defeated Rueben Burchall by scores of 75 – 20 and 52 – 34 to put Sandys Boat Club ahead 3 - 1. Tucker and Andre Burgess then defeated Siese and Matthews by a score of 43 – 35. Bromby took the high break with a 20 to make it 4 – 2 Sandys Boat Club.
