Snooker League Opening Round
The Bermuda Snooker Association welcomed The Royal Artillery Association back into the Snooker League. The Royal Artillery Association make a return after a 31 year absence, the last time they were in the league was 1979, so it has been a while.

Royal Artillery Association (RAA) 4 Spanish Point Boat Club One 2

Rust and nerves did not seem to be an issue though as RAA kicked off their season with a 4 - 2 win over Spanish Point Boat Club One. Joe Hayward got them off to a good start with a comfortable 82 - 17 win over Chris Dakin. Spanish Point Boat Club One leveled the match when Stewart Greenslade defeated Mike McGowan 61 - 20. However, McGowan roared back at the end of the next match to take Blue, Pink and Black and win 50 - 49. He also claimed the high break for the night with that run. Andy Peniston slipped past Ed Gumbs 54 - 50 to make it 3-1 for RAA. Gumbs and Dakin then defeated Peniston and Hayward 50 - 39 to bring the final score to 4 - 2.

Sandys Boat Club 5 West End Sports Club 1

Sandys Boat Club
was home to West End Sports Club and the visitors walked off with a 5 - 1 win. Tony DeSilva started it off for West End Sports Club with a 51 - 35 win over Stuart Matthews. Zane DeSilva followed up with a 51 - 41 win over Peter Bromby. Martin Siese grabbed the lone point for Sandys Boat Club when he defeated Steve Bremar 52 - 34. However, Bremar bounced back in the second frame to take it 66 - 22. Bremar also had a 27 break in the second frame to claim high break for the night. The DeSilva’s teamed up to take the doubles 71 - 61 over Bromby and Matthews.
