National Championships Record, FINA & Points Champions

Following the Bermuda National Swimming Championships three day event, today www.islandstats.com bring you news of a 10 year old record broken unofficially, National Champions and FINA Point Champions.

Madelyn Moore has unofficially broken a 10 year old Bermuda Female 50m Backstroke Long Course Record clocking a time of 29.24, this time breaks the previous best time held by Kiera Aitken set back in July 2012 in a time of 29.31.

Violet Smith from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club won the FINA Points 12 & Under Girls Division with 526 points.

With 333 points Nayland Harris from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club won the FINA Points 12 & Under Boys Division.

Moore won the FINA points 13 & Over Girls Division with 785 points, while the FINA Points 13 & Over Boys Division winner was Jack Harvey with 762 points.

The Girls Under 12 Division National Champion was Arabella Newport Derbyshire representing the Harbour Amateur Swim Club with 3,245 points, Violet Smith also from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club was second with 2,761 points, and Tallulah Parkinson made it a clean sweep on the podium for the Harbour Amateur Swim Club finishing third with 2,402 points.

Logan Jones was crowned the Boys Under 12 Division Champion representing the Sharks Swim Club with 1,768 points, he edged Nayland Harris from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club by 2 points, as Harris scored 1,766 points, and Joey Cechini from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club finished third with 1,483 points.

The Girls Over 13 Division was another close encounter as Marliegh Howes from the Sharks Swim Club was crowned the Champion with 3,988 points, Taylor White also of the Sharks Swim Club finished second four points back with 3,984 points, and Imojen Judd made it a clean sweep in the Division for the Sharks Swim Club as she finished third with 3,830 points.

The Boys Over 13 Division Champion was Thomas Cechini from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club as he picked up 3,445 points, Seth Samuels from the Sharks Swim Club was second with 2,856 points, and Nathan Burrill from the Harbour Amateur Swim Club finished third with 2,499 points.
