Day 1 Canadian Age Group Championships
The 2015 Canadian Age Group Championships got underway in Quebec City, with Brett Smith, Emma Harvey, Madelyn Moore and Jesse Washington all hitting the water for the Preliminaries.

Harvey will compete in the 14 Year Old A Final of the Girls 100m Butterfly after touching the wall in a time of 1:04.28 which saw her finish second.

Washington missed out on a spot in the 16 year Old Men’s 100m Butterfly Final when he finished 16th touching the wall in a time of 59.52.

Swimming in the 13 Year Old Boys 200m Backstroke, Smith advanced to the Final with the 10th fastest time of 2:26.39.

During the 15 Year Old Girls 200m Backstroke, Moore finished 26th with a time of 2:36.99.

In Finals at the Canadian Age Group Championships, Emma Harvey won the Bronze Medal in the 100m Butterfly event for 14 year old Girls.

In a closely fought battle for second place, Kendra Polewski just edged Harvey by 4/100ths of a second.

Harvey’s time of 1:03.77 saw her break both her Age Group and Bermuda Record for the second time today.

Brett Smith was the other Bermuda finalist, competing in the 200m Backstroke for 13 year old boys. He finished in 10th place with a time of 2:31.37.
