The 2023 CARIFTA Aquatics Championships got underway in Curacao, with Bermuda claiming a Medal on the Opening Day.
The 15-17 Girls 400 LC Meter Freestyle Relay team of Imogen Judd, Myeisha Sharrieff, Adriana Argent and Bella Howes claimed the Bronze Medal clocking 4:06.35.
In the 13-14 Girls 100 LC Meter Butterfly Final, Elanna Fulton finished 4th touching the wall in 1:08.12, and Marleigh Howes finished 6th in 1:09.41.
Marleigh Howes finished 6th in the 13-14 Girls 50 LC Meter Backstroke Final clocking 32.67, while Myeisha Sharrieff clocked a time of 30.41 to finish 4th in the 15-17 Girls 50 LC Meter Backstroke Final, and Brandon Adkins finished in 8th place with a time of 28.63 in the 15-17 Boys 50 LC Meter Backstroke Final.
Earlier in the First Session, Adrianna Argent finished 3rd in the Girls 15 & Over 800 LC Meter Freestyle touching the wall in a time of 10:26.13.
During the Boys 15 & Over 1500 LC Meter Freestyle Thomas Cechini finished second with a time of 17:19.65.
Marleigh Howes advanced to the 13-14 Girls 50 LC Meter Backstroke Final when she finished 6th in the Preliminaries with a time of 32.53, Elanna Fulton finished 9th touching the wall in a time of 32.88.
During the 13-14 Boys 50 LC Meter Backstroke Preliminaries, Connor Hupman clocked a time of 31.18 finishing 13th.
Myeisha Sharrieff advanced to the 15-17 Girls 50 LC Meter Backstroke Final after finishing second in the Preliminaries clocking 30.29, while Imojen Judd was 15th clocking 33.50, and Bella Howes was 19th clocking 34.23.
Brandon Adkins finished 9th competing in the 15-17 Boys 50 LC Meter Backstroke Preliminaries touching the wall in a time of 28.75.
Fulton and Marleigh Howes advanced to the 13-14 Girls 100 LC Meter Butterfly Final after Fulton finished 6th in the Preliminaries with a time of 1:09.53, and Howes clocked 1:09.79.
Sharrieff finished 12th in the 15-17 Girls 100 LC Meter Butterfly with a time of 1:09.10, while Judd clocked a time of 1:11.42 finishing 16th.
During the 15-17 Boys 100 LC Meter Butterfly Cechini finished 18th with a time of 1:01.82.
