Senior Madelyn Moore raced seven times over the weekend at the Intermountain Shootout in Grand Junction and seven times she walked away with a first-place finish. The Western Athletic Conference has announced Moore as the conference Swimmer of the Week for her efforts. Coming off a WAC Swimmer of the Year performance in 2020-21, Moore made sure to demonstrate she had no intentions of surrendering the title in 2021-22. Individually, Moore was by far the fastest in the pool in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly. She also anchored each Relay at the CMU Natatorium, holding off in-state rivals Colorado State and Air Force as well as a strong BYU team in the 200 Freestyle, 400 Medley, 200 Medley and 400-yard Freestyle Relays. Entering the season, Moore owns three Individual School records (50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke) and has been part of four school record-holding Relay Teams.
