The 18th FINA World Championships 2019 continued in Gwangju, Republic of Korea.
Elan Daley was back in the Pool, she would compete in the Women’s 100m Freestyle.
Coming off her impressive performance breaking the Bermuda Open Record, Daley was looking to put an assault on the Open 100m Women’s Freestyle record held by Kiera Aitken who clocked 56.99 on July 30th 2009 during the 13th FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy.
Daley finished fifth in Heat 6 with a time of 57.00, her time was just one, one hundred of a second off the record.
The fourteen year old’s time did break the Age Group Record held by Logan Watson-Brown of 59.33.
