More Medals for Bermuda & Another CCCAN Record

Bermuda took their Medal Count at the 2017 Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) Championships at the National Aquatic Centre in Trinidad and Tobago to 38 when the final swimmers concluded.

Bermuda won another 9 Medals on the final day and also saw Elan Daley break another CCCAN Record along the way.

A twenty-two year old record was broken as Daley won the 11-12 Girls 50 LC Meter Freestyle with a time of 26.82, breaking the record of Cerian Gibbes which was set back on July 1st 1995. Payton Zelkin won the Bronze Medal in the race with a time of 28.01.

Zelkin captured a Silver Medal during the 11-12 Girls 400 LC Meter Freestyle when she touched the wall in a time of 4:39.53, the 11-12 Boys 50 LC Meter Freestyle Silver Medal went to Sam Williamson who clocked 26.58.

Jesse Washington won the Silver Medal during the 15-17 Boys 50 LC Meter Freestyle with a time of 23.77, while Logan Watson-Brown won the 13-14 Girls 50 LC Meter Freestyle Bronze Medal clocking 27.87.

Daley captured the Silver Medal during the 11-12 Girls 100 LC Meter Breaststroke when she stopped the clock in a time of 1:19.28, with Williamson winning the 11-12 Boys 100 LC Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:13.20, with Taylor White winning the 11-12 Girls 200 LC Meter Backstroke Silver Medal with a time of 2:36.66.

Jessica Bruton, Zelkin, Daley and White powered their way to victory in the 11-12 Girls 400 LC Meter Medley Relay clocking a time of 4:48.23.

Skyler Powell finished 7th competing in the 13-14 Girls 400 LC Meter Freestyle clocking a time of 4:47.44, Madelyn Moore clocked a time of 26.85 on her way to finishing 4th during the 15-17 Girls 50 LC Meter Freestyle Shannon Hassell also finished 4th while competing in the 15-17 Girls 200 LC Meter Backstroke stopping the clock in a time of 2:28.87.

Watson-Brown finished 7th competing in the 13-14 Girls 200 LC Meter Backstroke with a time of 2:35.78, Gabriela Pitman finished 8th competing in the 13-14 Girls 50 LC Meter Freestyle, Zelkin finished 4th in the 11-12 Girls 100 LC Meter Breaststroke clocking a time of 1:20.47 and Bruton finished 4th competing in the 11-12 Girls 200 LC Meter Backstroke stopping the clock in a time of 2:41.57.
