The LF Wade International Airport was abuzz as the Bermuda Carifta Swimming Championship team arrived back.
The team was greeted by the Jeanne Atherden the Minister of Health & Seniors and the Shadow Minister for Sports Michael Weeks.
National coach Ben Smith addressing the media, along with parents and friends said, “This team was just getting faster and faster as the event went on, something I was worried about.”
“The work that they put in ahead of time paid dividends, the Caribbean is getting stronger and we just need to make sure that we continue to grow,” continued Smith.
Jesse Washington performing in his final Carifta Swimming Championships said, it was emotional when he realized it was all coming to an end, “When I was standing on the blocks on the final day I was thinking about how long I have come, but I am got some things ahead that I will focus on.”
