Bermuda Olympian Rebecca Heyliger was in action in Denmark competing in the Indoor East & West Junior/Senior Langbane Long Course Swim Meet in Denmark.

Heyliger finished second in the Women’s 50m Freestyle Preliminaries touching the wall in a time of 26.27 to advance to the Final. During the Final Heyliger finished T1st with a faster time of 26.23 the same as Karoline Barrett.

Heyliger also finished 6th in the Women’s 50m Butterfly Preliminaries clocking 28.49, Heyliger taking part in the Women’s 50m Butterfly Final finished 4th touching the wall in a time of 29.17.

Heyliger finished 7th in the Women’s 100m Freestyle Preliminaries clocking a time of 1:00.15, Heyliger was faster competing in the Women’s 100m Freestyle Final stopping the clock in a time of 59.37.

Following the Event Heyliger said, “The competition was pretty good. I am happy with my performances in the 50 Freestyle going a season best in Heats and then again in the Final. The only time I've been faster is at Bermuda Nationals last summer when I qualified for Rio. I now have the top 4 fastest Bermudian 50 Freestyle Long Course times.”

Heyliger went on to say, “I'm not so happy with my 50m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle performances. I came 4th in the 50m Butterfly and 7th in the 100m Freestyle which was only 10 minutes after the apart with no cool down pool.”

Heyliger concluded, “I think the fact that I'm swimming less has been beneficial especially for my 50m Freestyle. I have also been working on breath control techniques.”
