Bermuda multiple Age Group Record Holder Elan Daley of Markham Aquatic Club lowered the 11-12 Girls’ 50m Freestyle Record during the Canadian Age Group Swimming Championships.
During the Girls 12 & Under 50 LC Meter Freestyle race, Daley touched the wall in 27.07, only two-100ths short of the winning 13-year-old time.
The result took Daley’s medal count to four thus far in the Championships, she has 2 Gold Medals, a Silver and a Bronze.
Daley captured Gold in the Girls 12 & Under 100 LC Meter Butterfly touching the wall in a time of 1:06.91.
Daley’s Silver Medal came during the Girls 12 & Under 100 LC Meter Freestyle stopping the clock in a time of 1:01.24 and during the Girls 12 & Under 50 LC Meter Breaststroke Daley captured her Bronze Medal with a time of 35.81.
“I feel really happy – I’m going to try to get more records,” Daley said. “I just prepared the same way I usually do and I guess I just tried a little harder. My coach told me to breath three times during the race, breath as little as possible.”
Also competing is Ethan Daley, during the Boys 15 Year Olds 100 LC Meter Breaststroke Daley finished 32nd clocking a time of 1:14.83.
With a time of 9:19.59, Ethan Daley finished 25th during the Boys 15 Year Olds 800 LC Meter Freestyle.
