Fletcher Meets Olympic B Standard at the Sports Center

There were tears and joy around the National Sports Center during Day Three of the Validus Bermuda National Long Course Swimming Championships as Julian Fetcher became the second Bermudian Swimmer to meet the Rio 2016 Olympic B Standard time.
Fletcher competing in the Boys 13 & Over 100 Long Course Meter Breaststroke, battling his Trojans Swim Club Teammate Azad Al-Barazi, both were looking to meet the B Standard, Al-Barazi finished first with a time of 1:01.15, with Fletcher touching the wall in 1:02.47, with the Qualifying B Standard time being 1:02.69. In achieving his accomplishment Fletcher broke his own National Record.
Meanwhile Lisa Blackburn came close to meeting the Qualifying B Standard when she clocked 1:11.93 during the Girls 13 & Over 100 Long Course Meter Breaststroke with the B Standard Qualification time being 1:10.22.
