The Bermuda swimmers closed out their final day of competition at the WAC Invitational with another 7 medal haul. In summary, the four swimmers amassed a total of 18 Medals, 8 Gold, 4 Silvers and 6 Bronze.
Taylor White won Gold Medals in all three of her events on the final day, in the 100m Butterfly, 200m Individual Medley and 100m Backstroke. She also recorded new Personal Bests in each of these events, with times of 1:19.17, 2:50.51 and 1:21.80 respectively. Over the course of the three day meet, she swam in 10 events and medaled in all of them.
Holly Bruton swam in four finals, with a 5th place finish in the 200m Freestyle and a pair of 7th place finishes in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke events.
Gabby Pitman waited until her last event to get a Bronze Medal in the 50m Freestyle in a time of 29.98, along with a 7th place finish in 200m Freestyle.
Skyler Powell had a series of strong races, taking Gold Medals in the 400m Freestyle and the 200m Individual Medley, a Bronze in the 200m Freestyle and a 4th place finish in the 50m Freestyle.
Coach Richard Goodwin said, “These were excellent results from a small, young team. They acquitted themselves with distinction over the course of this competition and we can expect them to continue this level of success for the remainder of the season.”
