Bermuda Carifta Swimmers Win 7 Medals on Final Day

The Final Day of the Carifta Swimming Championships in Martinique saw Bermuda pick up a total of 7 Medals that included 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze.
Vanessa Esposito was not going to be denied a Medal as she picked up the Bronze Medal competing in the 15-17 Women’s 400m Freestyle clocking a time of 4:35.50. Madelyn Moore grabbed the Gold Medal during the 15-17 Women’s 50m Breaststroke touching the wall in a time of 26.75, while Emma Harvey won the Silver Medal during the 13-14 Women’s 50m Breaststroke recording a time of 27.17 and Logan Watson Brown won the Bronze Medal in the 11-12 Women’s 50m Breaststroke clocking a time of 28.83.
Sam Williamson won the Bronze Medal after he was clocked at 1:19.34 during the 11-12 Men’s 100m Breaststroke Final. Emma Harvey also claimed a Silver Medal during the 13-14 Women’s 200m Backstroke Final after clocking a time of 2:25.72. Jack Harvey won the Bronze Medal clocking a time of 2:34.40 taking part in the 11-12 Men’s 200m Backstroke Final.
Jesse Washington clocked the fourth fastest time in the 15-17 Men’s 50m Freestyle Final of 24.35. Shannon Hassell finished fourth competing in the 15-17 Men’s 200m Backstroke Final when she was clocked at 2:29.78, while Jessica Bruton finished 8th in the 11-12 Women’s 200m Backstroke Final after recording a time of 2:48.20.
Earlier in the Day, Logan Watson-Brown advanced to the 11-12 Women’s 400m Freestyle recording the 5th fastest time of 5:06.31, while a time of 4:23.70 saw Jesse Washington record the 3rd fastest 15-17 Men’s 400m Freestyle time to advance to the Final, Sam Williamson also advanced to the Final in the 400m Freestyle finishing 3rd in the 11-12 Men’s Division with a time of 5:09.71.
Williamson will also compete in the 11-12 Men’s 100m Breaststroke Final after recording the 4th fastest qualifying time of 1:21.57. Shannon Hassell clocked a time of 2:30.04 finishing with the second fastest 15-17 Women’s 200m Backstroke preliminary time. Emma Harvey clocked a time of 2:31.73 during the 13-14 Women’s Backstroke preliminaries that will see her enter the Final with the third fastest time.
Jessica Bruton will compete in the 11-12 Women’s 200m Backstroke Final after finishing 7th during the Preliminaries with a time of 2:46.07, while Jack Harvey qualified for the 11-12 Men’s 200m Backstroke Final after recording a time of 2:36.88 on his way to finishing 4th.
Hassell finished 9th in the 15-17 Women’s Breaststroke Preliminaries clocking a time of 37.66, Bruton finished 10th competing in the 11-12 Women’s 400m Freestyle Preliminaries clocking a time of 5:20.37. Madelyn Moore finished 9th competing in the 15-17 Women’s 200m Backstroke clocking a time of 2:36.74. Williamson finished 12th competing in the 11-12 Men’s 200m Backstroke Preliminaries recording a time of 2:52.08.
