Flora Duffy competed in the 2016 Sanlam Cape Mile, the Cape Mile is a one mile (1.6km) Open Water Swimming race that takes place at the Grabouw Country Club’s Eikenhof Dam, South Africa, giving Western Cape swimmers the chance to participate in a safe, mass swim.
The dark, pristine waters of the Eikenhof Dam provide the perfect setting for an event which appeals to the curious and competent.
The inaugural Sanlam Cape Mile was held in 2014 and was a resounding success, with some of the country’s top swimmers featuring in a field of nearly 1000 swimmers.
Competing in the Elite Race, Duffy finished 11th overall and was the 4th Female finisher clocking a time of 21:03.
