Harvey Reaches 2 Finals IslandStats.com On the final day of competition of the Canadian Age Group Championships in Quebec City, all four of the Bermuda swimmers were back in action.
The first event was the 200m Individual Medley, with Brett Smith contesting the 13 Year Old Boys Age Group. Smith swam the entire race well, knocking a second off his previous Personal Best, touching the wall in a time of 2:31.97 which saw him finish 23rd overall.
Next was Emma Harvey in the 200m Individual Medley event, competing in the 14 Year Old Girls Age Group. Harvey swam very well, finishing 4th in her Heat and 9th overall to advance to tonight’s final, clocking a time of 2:30.70 setting a new Age Group Record.
The next block of Heats were the 50m Butterfly and Harvey was back in action in her signature event. She produced a time of 29.07, which tied her for 3rd place for tonight’s final.
Madelyn Moore was the next Bermuda competitor in the 50m Butterfly event, in the 15 Year Old Girls Age Group. She was off of her usual high turnover to finish 22nd in the Age Group, with a time of 30.14.
The final Bermuda swimmer for the morning was Jesse Washington competing in the Boys 16 Year Old Age Group 50m Butterfly. Washington swam in a very competitive Heat and was successful in taking the 10th and final place for tonight’s final, with a time of 26.68.
