Day Three Carifta Swimming Championships 2015

Day Three 2015 Carifta Swimming Championships in Barbados saw the Bermuda Swimmers pick up where the left off, increasing the Medal count to 19 and setting Personal Best times.

FINALS

Madelyn Moore captured the Gold Medal during the 13-14 Girls 100 Meter Freestyle Final, just missing out on the Carifta Record by 4 tenths of a second touching the wall in a Personal Best time of 59.86.

Emma Harvey won the Bronze Medal in the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Butterfly touching the wall in a Personal Best time of 2:34.51 finishing third.

Tyler Mazurek finished third winning the Bronze Medal with a Personal Best time of 2:15.69 during the 15-17 Boys 200 Meter Butterfly.

Vannesa Esposito finished 5th in the 15-17 Girls 200 Meter IM clocking a time of 2:33.93, Tyler Mazurek finished 5th in the 15-17 Boys 200 Meter IM clocking 2:16.38.

Esposito finished 7th in the 15-17 Girls 50 Meter Breaststroke touching the wall in a time of 38.43. Jesse Washington finished 5th in the 15-17 Boys 100 Meter Freestyle clocking 53.87. Chloe Mazurek finished 8th in the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Butterfly clocking a Personal Best time of 2:52.52.

Preliminaries

Skyler Powell will take her place in the 11-12 Girls 200 Meter IM Final after recording the 5th fastest time of 2:45.68, which was a Personal Best. During the 15-17 Girls 200 Meter IM Vanessa Esposito recorded the 4th fastest time of 2:33.46.

Tyler Mazurek’s Personal Best time of 2:17.90 in the 15-17 Boys 200 Meter IM saw him finish in 5th, while Madelyn Moore will enter the 13-14 Girls 100 Meter Freestyle Final as favorite after clocking the fastest time of 1:00.34. Shannon Hassell clocked the third fastest qualifying time in the 15-17 Girls 100 Meter Freestyle touching the wall in a Personal Best time of 1:00.41.

Jesse Washington set a Personal Best on his way to finishing 5th in the 15-17 Boys 100 Meter Freestyle clocking 53.85, while Bermuda will have two participants in the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter Butterfly Final after Emma Harvey clocked the 6th fastest time of 2:43.83, while Chloe Mazurek finished 8th with a time of 2:52.65.

Tyler Mazurek will take his spot in the 15-17 Boys 200 Meter Butterfly Final after finishing with the 7th fastest time of 2:17.15.

Jack Harvey finished 15th clocking a Personal Best time of 2:50.93 during the 11-12 Boys 200 Meter IM, Emma Harvey finished 9th in the 13-14 Girls 200 Meter IM with a time of 2:38.96. Philip Hagen’s time of 2:25.09 saw him finish 14th in the 15-17 Boys 200 Meter IM.

During the 11-12 Girls 50 Meter Breaststroke Holly Bruton finished 15th with a Personal Best time of 43.62, Keagan Woolley swam a Personal Best time of 39.32 on his way to finishing 10th in the 11-12 Boys 50 Meter Breaststroke and Megan Lau clocked a Personal Best time of 38.11 on her way to finishing 12th in the 13-14 Girls 50 Meter Breaststroke.

During the 13-14 Boys 50 Meter Breaststroke Ethan Daley finished 13th with a time of 35.68, while Vanessa Esposito finished 9th with a time of 38.20 during the 15-17 Girls 50 Meter Breaststroke. Philip Hagen and Peter Kiernan finished 11th and 19th in the 15-17 Boys 50 Meter Breaststroke, Hagen had a Personal best time of 32.39 and Kiernan clocked a Personal Best time of 36.26.

During the 11-12 Boys 100 Meter Freestyle, Woolley and Jack Harvey finished 19th and 21st, both swimming Personal Best times, Woolley clocked 1:07.54 and Harvey clocked 1:09.74. Ashley Irby clocked 1:03.40 during the 13-14 Girls 100 Meter Freestyle finishing 15th.
