Ashley Yearwood’s and her Denison Women’s Swimming and Diving teammates lead the 2015 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championship by 19 points. Denison has totaled 598 points while Kenyon sits in second with 579 through six events.
The opening race was the Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay and it featured Rima Jurjus, Carolyn Kane, Yearwood and Mary Van Leuven.
The foursome came very close to a new National Record with their time of 1:31.98. It was good enough to break the program mark set in 2009. It also shattered the NCAC record set by Denison in 2011. This is Denison University's eighth consecutive win in the Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay at the NCAC Championship.
Yearwood finished 5th in the Women’s 50 Yard Freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 23.59.
