The Peddie School have honored Bermuda Olympic Swimmer Roy-Allan Burch, with plaques hanging on the Swimming Wall of Fame.
Greg Wriede, Peddie School & Peddie Aquatic Association Director of Competitive Swimming/Head Coach aid, “In 2010 we opened a new aquatics facility at Peddie and it has improved our training environment over our old pool which was built in the mid-1970’s.”
Wriede continued, “We have been designing ways to integrate our history of Peddie Swimming into our new pool over the past two years. This past year I tackled the project of finding a way to honor those who have competed in the Olympics, either current students or graduates of the program.”
“Peddie has a long standing history with the games and having had a student or graduate in the games every year since 1992. Through work with our company that produced our record boards, we found a way to celebrate our Olympians in a way that worked very well with the design of our facility, Burch appears on the twice as he has been to the Olympics on two occasions and we are hoping to add another one for him in 2016,” concluded Wriede.
